ROLEPLAYING1.) We expect that in each of your post you have a minimum of 100 words. Check this with the site word count widget or with applications such as MS Word.
2.) It's not required, but please, remember to have proper grammar and spelling in your posts.
3.) For your roleplay threads, we expect you to label them accordingly. Either in the topic title or in the description or in the first post, make sure to add these tags corresponding to your RP:
[N] - Nuzlocke Characters only
[NO] - Normal Characters only
[NNO] - Nuzlocke and Normal characters permitted
[OPEN] - Open thread (Allows any RPers to abruptly join the thread)
[CLOSED] - This thread is reserved to specific RPers.
[T] - Traveling thread. Avoid posting in these, as they are usually only made for a character to pass to another area.
Note: If you have any extra details such as in Open threads you only permit a maximum of 3 or so people or they need to PM for to be allowed, feel free to add it in topic descriptions. On an added note, always read the descriptions when joining a thread. It's common courtesy and randomly barging in and disobeying the topic's restrictions will lead to your post getting deleted. If ever someone has entered your thread unexpectedly, feel free to contact staff to get their post removed. We will inform them promptly.
Example:'IN THE CORE [NNO][CLOSED]'
- Thread cannot be entered, it has been restricted to a private party. Both Nuzlocke and Normal type characters are permitted inside.
4.) For a thread to be considered completed, you must have at least 3 pages.
5.)
Exception to the 3-page requirement would be
Travelling threads. They can contain only 1 post. (And Mono-RPs, to be explained later)
ROLEPLAY TYPEIn this forum, you can either play it easily for the plot or just for fun, or go with the intended way of playing it and
suffer experience the true hardships that await your characters. You don't have to stick with one type for all your characters. You can have one normal character for fun, and you can have one other Nuzlocke character for a challenge. We don't wish to push you into making your characters suffer, but we would prefer that you do, as it was the main objective of this site.
Note: If you're feeling up for a challenge, feel free to include personal handicaps. It doesn't matter if you're normal or nuzlocke, if you wish to have a restriction for a specific character then you're allowed to. Let's say you want your normal type character to not be allowed to capture and train fire types, then simply include it in the Roleplay Type field. But be aware that if you're going with this challenge, you cannot go back. You cannot withdraw your fire type restriction, last evolution restriction, or any other restriction for your character no matter how far you've gone. Take caution with doing this.
NUZLOCKEA Nuzlocke character experiences hardships, sacrifices, and a ton of death, but worthwhile rewards are what's in store to make sure you're getting enough in return.
- RULES:
- Can capture only the FIRST pokemon you encounter in each thread. (Note: For occupations who can't catch Plagued Pokemon or Robot Pokemon, your first encounter will not count if it's Plagued or Robot.)
- Dupes Clause: If you already have a pokemon from the same evolution line, you cannot capture it. This will not count as your first encounter. We support diversity in teams, and as wonderful as it would be to have spares, it would be much better if you didn't have 1000 Rattatas. Joey no.
- Must have a Zombie Die for each encounter roll. (Don't worry, there are Normal pokemon in the Die as well.)
- Deaths will have rewards depending on the level of your pokemon. Your pokemon should have gained at least 10 levels since it was captured for these bonuses to take effect. This does not count for starter pokemon.
Level Values:
10 = +800 Poke
11-20 = +2000 Poke
21-30 = +2800 Poke
31-40 = +4000 Poke
41-50 = +6000 Poke
51+= +10000 Poke
- PM staff if a pokemon of yours has died and is ready for reaping. [/size]
NORMALJust want to have fun and don't want to suffer? Well, you can be exempted from the Nuzlocke rules by playing this type for your character.
- RULES:
- Can capture as many pokemon as you wish.
- Zombie Die are optional for each encounter, unless the area is currently infected.
- Your pokemon can faint instead of dying. This is only applicable when battling normal, non-infected opponents. Plagued pokemon can still add to your Bite Values.
- Deaths will hold no rewards
Note: NORMAL MODE CHARACTERS WILL NOT HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF REWARDS AS NUZLOCKE CHARACTERS. Upon completing the quest, Nuzlocke characters will be the only ones to receive the 'true' Ultimate prize.
EXTRAS-If a Normal character and a Nuzlocke character will share a thread, they will continue to abide their separate rules. Keep your own character's records in check and avoid making mistakes.
-You cannot
cross-trade. Meaning, a Nuzlocke character can't trade pokemon with a Normal character and vice-versa. In order to purchase or trade pokemon, you'll have to consult a Merchant or another character of the same type.
MONO-RPsYou can roleplay with yourself in the MONO-RP part of the catergories, you will NOT get poke upon each post and you will NOT get levels with each page. You can only have ONE mono-rp topic open in your available five topics, and another cannot be opened until the first is graded and closed by a mod or admin.
When roleplaying with yourself, you will be graded and given prizes based on how good your topic is. The number of posts you post doesn't matter! You shall be graded on:
-Plot
-Length of Paragraphs
-Detailing of events
The poke and levels given will be based on what the admin/mod thinks you deserve. Do not create huge arguments over it, if you feel that you deserve more, then have another mod look over it to give their opinion on whether it should be boosted or not.
When spawning pokemon in a mono-rp, we ask that you roll the dice in separate posts from your content. This will allow you to go back and edit without messing up the results.
OCCUPATIONSYou will be playing a Character with the ability to capture and train pokemon. While it is banned in Sympho, your right to having pokemon will depend on your Occupation.
S.I.L.P.HNearly anyone can join the S.I.L.P.H (Seeking Integrity, Liberty, Prosperity, and Honor) and fight against the Government Seekers. Be cautious, alert, and ready for hurt, as a Trainer's job is no longer child's play.
- FACTIONS:
Rebels:
- Normal trainers working with S.I.L.P.H
- Can be 10 years old and up.
Researchers:
- Specially trained scientists working to research Plagued Pokemon. While it's more expected of them to stay hidden in their laboratories, it's not unusual to see one walking about. Their studies in Plagues require them to see Plagued pokemon, after all, and to observe their habitats and behaviors. They are often tasked to retrieve DNA, but this task can also be passed on to Rebels.
- Can be 18 years old and up.
Mercenaries:
- Experienced rebels who had underwent the years of military training the government had established. They are tasked with the responsibility of watching out for the other Rebels of S.I.L.P.H and making sure that none will be caught by S.E.E.K.
- Can be 25 years old and up.
- ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES:
Advantages:
-Can capture, sell and trade Plagued Pokemon
-Can access S.I.L.P.H reserved areas
-Can take S.I.L.P.H missions
Disadvantages:
-Cannot reveal occupation in public. You will be attacked, captured, and brought to S.E.E.K. Luckily, Mercenaries can help you break out. But you'll need to return to The Core to get your Trainer Card wiped and remade so that Seekers don't track you down again.
-Cannot use Robot Pokemon
S.E.E.KBeing part of S.E.E.K (Symphonian Emissary of Eutaxy and Kritarchy), your job is to scour the Districts, gain the favor of officials, and most of all, arrest Trainers and put a stop to S.I.L.P.H.Townspeople fear and respect you, especially when you hold up your card or badge. Although it is not entirely legal, you're free to use force in your duties. Just try to avoid getting caught, but that's not much of a worry as most other Seekers don't really care.
- FACTIONS:
Agents/Seekers:
- Normal trainers working under S.E.E.K. They're somewhat more trained in comparison to normal rebels. They've had proper training and disciplinary courses. Most of them were signed up at the age of 10, then trained for a minimum of 4 years. Some chose to be trained for several extra years, increasing their chances of being promoted to Chief.
- Can be 14 years old and up.
Engineers:
- S.E.E.K focuses mainly on finding a cure rather than using Plagued pokemon. With the sudden escape of their robot supply, Engineers have been sent out to investigate. They're knowledgeable on the mechanics of these robots, and are more than capable of handling situations involving them. They are often sent out to observe and collect Robot pokemon to further their studies.
- Can be 18 years old and up.
Chiefs:
- Experienced, and very well-trained agents of S.E.E.K. They are not only tasked with obliterating S.I.L.P.H, but are also tasked with official affairs with the government. From business, to carrying confidential information, Chiefs are more aware of what's going on in the government than others.
- Can be 25 years old and up
- ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES:
Advantages:
-Access S.E.E.K reserved areas
-Can take S.E.E.K missions
-Can train, capture, and trade Robotmon
Disadvantages:
-Cannot capture or use Plagued pokemon
-Failed missions will have corresponding punishments. Failure is extremely looked down upon, and the consequences may vary depending on how vital the mission was.
MERCHANTSMerchants are very hidden in society. They sell items and pokemon to both S.I.L.P.H and S.E.E.K, with very little of them favoring one over the other. It is rumored that they work for the same corporation that had established the PokeMart, but further research suggests that it is false.
- FACTIONS:
Merchants/Suppliers/Breeders:
- Exceptional at handling of pokemon. They are knowledgeable enough that they can breed pokemon and create offspring. They cater to both organizations, but some do have favorites. There are many different types of merchants, from honest good-willed ones to thieves who will rob you of your money.
- RULES:
Advantages:
-Can breed and trade/sell pokemon and items.
-Start off with both a male and a female for their starters.
Disadvantages:
-Cannot use or breed Plagued Pokemon or Robot Pokemon, but can hold onto them to sell or trade.
EXTRAS:-Plagued cannot be breeded. Their offspring will come out morbidly disfigured or most likely dead.
-Robots cannot be breeded. Common sense pls.
-Holding onto Plagued Pokemon will still take up pokeball space.
MISCELLANEOUSTrainer PokemonWhen you're battling a trainer, the pokemon the trainer has is determined through the encounter die. The amount of pokemon the trainer has is determined by you, or your rp partner if you wish them to. They will ALWAYS be at least the same level as your highest leveled pokemon on your character. Higher is allowed and having their pokemon evolve during the fight is also allowed.
When fighting another trainer, that is an actual user, determine who will win between you. If you cannot decide, contact a staff member and they will flip a coin and determine who wins through there.
Character DeathA Character is considered dead when he/she has lost ALL pokemon. If both Party and Storage has been wiped, the Character will be considered unusable. You will need to buy a Character Ticket to continue with the benefits from your recently deceased character. However, if by any chance you are unable to purchase one, you will have to play using a
Free Restart. Free Restarts aren't any different, except they start off much worse than Ticket characters.
Breeding PokemonOnly Merchants can breed pokemon, even then both pokemon must be
at least level 35 before they go around making eggs. Each pokemon pair can make 1 egg every week, but there's still a chance of failing. Post a message on the Breeding Board under Character Discussion and a mod/admin will determine if your pokemon produced an egg. <they will be using a die to determine so though>
Note: If you try to pair a pokemon that has already bred with a one that has not, then it will NOT work.
